Is cottage cheese gluten-free? Usually, check low-fat and flavoured tubs
Usually yes. Cottage cheese is milk curds, cream and salt, which contain no gluten.
What to check
- Low-fat and “light” tubs sometimes add thickeners such as modified starch. In the EU, UK and US, a starch from wheat has to say wheat on the label.
- Flavoured versions (with fruit, granola or crackers) can contain gluten.
