Are Kit Kats gluten-free? No, the wafer is wheat

No. The wafer in a standard Kit Kat is made with wheat flour.

What the maker’s pages say

• US (Hershey): contains wheat, and Hershey’s own FAQ says Kit Kat is not gluten-free.
• UK (Nestlé): Nestlé’s UK FAQ says KitKats aren’t gluten-free. The one exception it names is the seasonal KitKat Bunny, which it calls gluten-free: look for the gluten-free wording on the pack.
