What to check

  • Some cheaper fish sauces add hydrolysed wheat protein or other flavourings. Read the ingredients.
  • In Thai and Vietnamese dishes, fish sauce is rarely the only sauce: soy sauce, oyster sauce and seasoning sauces often go in too, and those usually contain wheat.
