Are Doritos gluten-free? The US ones we checked aren’t labelled so, and some contain wheat
Don’t count on it. Doritos are corn chips, but the recipe and the flavourings change by country and by flavour.
What the maker’s pages say
- Germany: Doritos Nacho Cheese contains wheat flour.
- US: on PepsiCo’s product site, Doritos Nacho Cheese and Cool Ranch carry no gluten-free mark. Read the bag for the flavour you have.
- Seasoned flavours are where wheat turns up most often.
What to do
Plain corn tortilla chips labelled gluten-free are the easy swap, and the label is what tells you the flavouring was checked too.
