One card. One calm dinner in Chinese (Simplified).

This is the Chinese (Simplified) coeliac & gluten-free restaurant card. It covers cross-contact (shared fryer, pasta water, crumbs, flour dusting) and is colour-coded: red for what you can’t eat, green for what you can.

What you get (instant download): the Chinese (Simplified) card as an A6 card (print it, or show it on your phone), a credit-card-size wallet card, and a one-page English reference sheet, 3 PDFs.

About this translation: our English master was written by a coeliac. The Chinese (Simplified) text was checked line by line in September 2026 by three AI models (Gemini, GPT and Claude) against that master and corrected where needed. A native-speaker check is still pending, and the card says so in its footer.

What this card says

Every How to Gluten Free coeliac card carries the same nine-part message, written in the local language and checked against our English master card. In plain English, your card tells restaurant staff:

  • I have coeliac disease, an autoimmune medical condition, not a diet choice or preference.
  • I cannot eat wheat (including spelt, kamut, durum and semolina), barley, rye or standard oats, or anything made from them: bread, pasta, batter, breadcrumbs, flour.
  • Even a tiny amount, a crumb, makes me genuinely ill.
  • Please use a clean pan, clean utensils and boards, and fresh oil.
  • Was this fried in a shared fryer or in shared oil? Oil used for breaded food is not safe for me.
  • Does this contain soy sauce, malt, flour, breadcrumbs or stock cubes? Could you check?
  • I can eat rice, corn, potatoes, plain fresh meat and fish, eggs, dairy, vegetables and fruit, as long as they are not cooked with, or alongside, the items above.
  • Could you please check the ingredients with the kitchen? I am very happy to wait.
  • Thank you so much for taking care of this, it genuinely makes all the difference.

Staff can point back to one of three replies: “Yes, we can prepare it separately, with a clean pan and clean utensils.” / “I am sorry, we cannot guarantee that today.” / “One moment, let me ask the kitchen.”

Your download also includes a one-page English reference sheet (“What your card says”) so you always know exactly what you are handing over, plus local gluten traps and the region’s labelling rules on the back of the card itself.
