Gluten-free expos on three continents, a Christmas market where every single stand is coeliac-safe, an Alpine village that goes gluten free for ten days — and until now, no single page listed any of it. That changes today.
Here is a strange fact about coeliac life: the gluten-free event scene is bigger than most of us realise. There are dedicated expos in the US, Canada, Poland, Austria and Italy. There is a fully gluten-free Christmas market in the Black Forest. There is a town in the Allgäu that builds an entire holiday week around people like us. But the dates have always lived scattered across coeliac society pages, organiser sites and Facebook groups in five languages — and half of them were out of date by the time you found them.
So we built the calendar we always wanted: the HTGF Gluten-Free Events Calendar — one page, every gluten-free event we could verify for 2026 and 2027, in English, German and Italian.
What you’ll find on it right now
- Gluten Off Festival — Warsaw, this Saturday, 13 June 2026. The Polish Coeliac Society marks its 20th anniversary with the country’s biggest gluten-free event: certified producers, restaurants, cooking demos and medical talks at EXPO XXI. Entry is free, but registration is required — if you’re anywhere near Warsaw this weekend, go.
- Scheidegger Glutenfrei-Wochen — Scheidegg, 31 July – 9 August 2026. A small Kneipp resort town in the Allgäu runs ten days of gluten-free hikes with safe provisions, cooking courses, talks and tastings — with a roughly 30-exhibitor gluten-free market on 1 August. A compact autumn edition follows from 29 October.
- Gluten-Free Festival — St. Pölten, 17–18 October 2026. Austria’s first dedicated gluten-free festival: national and international exhibitors, gluten-free food trucks and a weekend of expert talks.
- Gluten Free Expo — Rimini, 16–19 November 2026. The international reference fair for gluten-free products, now running under the FoodNova umbrella at the Rimini Expo Centre. If you want to see where gluten-free food is heading, this is the room to stand in.
- Glutenfreier Weihnachtsmarkt — Sasbachwalden, 27–29 November & 3–6 December 2026. A Christmas market in Germany’s Black Forest where everything — Lebkuchen, waffles, cakes, sausages — is gluten free. For coeliacs this is the rarest thing in travel: a market where you don’t have to ask first.
How the calendar works
Two sections, two different promises.
Dedicated gluten-free events are the ones that exist for us — expos, markets and festivals where the whole point is that you can eat. One honest note: “gluten-free event” doesn’t suspend the usual questions. At any individual stand, still ask how food is prepared and stored before you trust it.
Gluten-free at the big events covers the mainstream fixtures — the FIFA World Cup, Oktoberfest, Kieler Woche — that don’t cater to us by default. We only list one of these when we have something concrete to offer: a verified gluten-free option on the ground, a published city guide, or field-tested tactics for eating safely around the event.
Every single listing carries the date we last verified it, and we re-check entries on a rolling basis. If a date moves or an event is cancelled, the calendar moves with it.
Help it grow
This is version one, and we know it isn’t complete. If you know a gluten-free event we’ve missed — a market, an expo, a coeliac society fair, anywhere in the world — send it in via the calendar page. Every entry gets verified before it’s published, so what you submit helps the next traveller who searches for it.
